Talquitz Falls
12/7/2020: Yep, one of the most beautiful and serene waterfalls I have ever seen. Only about 50' high, but every foot is a stroke of beauty. The hike is pretty easy with gradual uphill. Be sure to do the loop and you might see some Big Horn Sheep. We did. There is an entry fee, but well worth the price.
Note: Sometimes the creek feeding the waterfalls dries up. If your objective is to see the waterfall, you might want to check with the folks at the visitor center at the trailhead.
Marg’s Notes: Left a bit after 8 to do the Bump and Grind Trail. Internet said it was the best hike around, but we did not agree. Basically on the edge of town. Very crowded. Good view of the city of Palm Desert. It was cloudy, so might have looked better in the sun. Good exercise tho! 4.5 miles. 2 hour 12 minutes. After that we drove to the Tahquitz Falls Hike. This is on the Agua Caliente Reservation & had a $12.50 fee. We had a coupon so saved $5! This was beautiful! An easy hike. Quite a few people. 2.14 miles. Rod got some very nice pics. Took 1 hour 45 minutes. Came home for lunch and a nap!
Chimichangas, chips and salsa, & salad.
